WTH time data from the past is replaced with words

Lot of places suffer from this way of expressing time. Even entity detail popup

If I change entity state, after hour and half it shows ‘one hour ago’
If I change the state at 23:58, 3 minutes later it shows yesterday.

Not helpful at all

Moreover those textual representation often doesn’t fit free space being cropped!

I can imagine this way of displaying data in cards (as an option). But there are places which deserves showing exact time.

I know some systems which does similar things, but offers alternative way to read exact time (ie popup on hover, or change this behavior in user settings)

To sum up: information like yesterday, 2 days ago etc are useless if user wants to know exact time.

Ps please don’t suggest using history graph as a remedy

looking for an example I found following inconsistence:

All of them are dated to yesterday, but some are marked as 21 hours ago, even if there is only one hour difference between them and I making the shot at 11:36.
Imo evaluation of those textual replacements is done in GMT instead of local time applied in gui

>= 24 hours (rounded) is yesterday. It doesn’t follow actual dates for yesterday.

look at screenshot above. event logged at 13:36 of 2nd Oct, I made a screenshot at 11:34 of 3rd Oct.
Where is 24h are you mentioned?

Besides that, ‘yesterday’ is not what you say about current implementation. It would have no sense at sol.

But never mind, I’m not here to discuss bugs in implementation. while their existence somehow support my request the WTH is to ensure user is able to read exact time value instead of its textual, imprecise replacement.

You mean 13:06?

I know the code, it’s definitely hours rounded up >= 24 is tomorrow, its not based on midnight. I’m not saying it’s right or wrong, I’m telling you the calc. Chances are you took the screenshot when it was over 23 hours and change.
