WTH when something turns on and you don't know why

I’m stuck at the problem that a device which is involved in several automations that cross-check each others sometimes turns on and I don’t know why.

The tools to find out the reason are really really limited. What would help is a better logbook that would offer me useable filters to narrow that down.
Filters:

  • Checkbox to show everything related of the selected entitiy. E.g. all automations that include my selected light.
  • Filter by device instead of entity
  • Filter by string and wildcards
  • Filter by area

Provide additional information:

  • Show what caused the state change (if caused from HA: specific automation/script/user interaction, if not caused by HA: “external”)

A lot of this has been addressed by other WTHs and should available when 0.115 is released.

It’s so nice being able to see the entity history right there in the card when you click on something in Lovelace. This is my favorite feature in 0.115 so far.

Edit: it’s not perfect, but in 0.115 we see when a service is used to turn on or off a switch, for example. In the example below, the service calls are being made by node-RED using a long loved token owned by a user named node-RED, so it would be nice to see that here, but just seeing anything at all is nice.
