WTH - Why are individual devices already added to the energy dashboard possible to select when adding new devices to the energy dashboard?

This is a really annoying thing, whenever I want to add new individual devices to my energy dashboard, I have to scroll through all of the entities that I’ve already added to the list. Would it be possible to exclude the ones you’ve already added so that it is easier to find the ones you’re missing?

On a side-note, why are utility meters in this list at all? Shouldn’t they be excluded from addition to the individual devices section?

I suspect it is because they satisfy the requirements to be included in the enery dashboard:

  • correct unit
  • correct device class
  • correct state class

It would have been easily possible to exclude them when they had their own domain. Not so easy now that they are part of the sensor domain.
