WTH Why can't add-on such Frigate store data to a attached storage?

[New Addon] Samba NAS. (Mount external disk and share it )

Hi to all, I wish to share my last mod of the official samba addon. It is based on the last version (9.0) and allow to mount external ( USB,SD etc ) disk by partition label and share via samba. It is a complete plugin replacement of the original ( same config works too ) plus some features: Support to automount and autoshare disk by label ( Protection Mode must be turned off ) Support to expose Time Machine compatible devices ( you can use any share as TimeMachine target!) Add mDNS for ZeroC…

this more looks like it, but then it is too convoluted a way of doing a simple thing.
One reason to use proxmox + frigate + HAOS is this lack of storage freedom. If this is resolved HAOS + frigate as an addon will be an easier method of installation. Or even HAOS + frigate + Jellyfin as an addon. peace of mind and ease of use.
