We can share data with NAS, but what about adding an external HDD/SSD or another internal storage to the HAOS machine?
+1 as it would be nice to have simple option to use local storage for some addons.
Not tried but it myself but think you could achieve similar result indirectly by using the “Samba share” addon to share local storage as a SMB-share and then point Frigate to the local loopback IP address (127.0.0.1) as if was a share on a NAS.
Would that not work as a workaround or can we not get that “Samba share” addon to expose the correct directory/folder that you want? See related discussion here:

One reason to use proxmox + frigate + HAOS is this lack of storage freedom. If this is resolved HAOS + frigate as an addon will be an easier method of installation. Or even HAOS + frigate + Jellyfin as an addon. peace of mind and ease of use.
