WTH why can't we get history through a responding service?

Why can’t we get history of an entity through a responding service? It would be great to add our own calculations to template entities.

Or be able to ask voice commands of the voice assistant the process different entity histories to answer questions like “How many doors opened in the last hour?” or “How long were any windows open today?”

My LLM desperately was ts to be able to tell me how much power I used this week but for each query I have to build an individual history stats sensor?

Honestly if its numeric we should just be able to call min, max, average, top5, and a few other basic calls for time period x… Doing so would drastically expand voice capabilities and some dashboard use cases quickly.
