WTH why can't we use ESP32's running ESPHome devices as bluetooth adapter?

We had amazing recent additions to bluetooth and the bluetooth proxy addition using ESPHome powered ESP32’s. Why can’t we use those devices (or maybe other?) as bluetooth adapters themself?

I have a lot of problems using external bluetooth adpaters or even the one in raspberry pi’s due to interference & usb passthrough issues (probably my host systems fault) so I was wondering.
Why not extend the bluetooth proxies functionality to a bluetooth adapter? Maybe just add 1 bluetooth_adapter: line to ESPHome and make HA discover it as bluetooth adapter.

I had the same WTH, recently, wondering “why do I need a local bluetooth adapter which will actually never be used when using esphome proxy?”

So the actual request would be: “Allow to add the Bluetooth integration without an actual bluetooth adapter”.

It works that way. I’m running without an adapter and only proxies. It’s setup no different than if you had an adapter .
