WTH - Why is esphome providing an BT proxy, but there is still the need for as BT master?

Hi,

BT proxy is a welcome update.

But why is there no way to provide a BT master with esphome which gets connected via WIFI to HA and thereby provides the same functionality as a BT master plugged into USB at the HA host?

That way it is possible to provide only one ESP well placed in the home to provide BT and ppl do not need to buy a dedicated BT “dongle”.

Uh, I’m doing exactly that right now. I don’t have bluetooth on my main device, only my proxies. It’s not setup any differently. You just don’t buy the dongle.
