WTH, why is Home Assistant so awesome?

Thanks for a better product with every release! :two_hearts:

:100:

Totally on point :ok_hand: Most underrated WTH I came across till now in my live :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

This is a great WTH!

With so many WTHs asking for things it would be ready to forget that HA is already the best home automation platform by a long way.

Absolutely, I think we should have way more votes here if there is not feature request.

is the request now aiming at reducing the awesomeness? then i dont vote

The request is my way to try to show some appreciation to this, imho, awesome Project.

The developers way of always improving HA is in my eyes exceptional.

For me this product is a life saver both figurative and literally…

Love this!

Couldn’t agree more. HA has improved my life in ways I did not expect.

The developers are doing a great job and I’m happy to pay for the cloud service to ensure continued awesomeness :metal:t2:

 All I want for x-mas is for HA to continue… and more stuff to automate :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I can’t speak for Nabu Casa because I am not employed there but I can tell you that these types of posts/comments are inspiring/motivating and make me feel good about what I do. Thanks for appreciating the work, it sounds stupid but we often only focus on the problems. This is a great platform and I am honored to contribute to it.

Seriously, WTH! I don’t think I’ve ever had a hobby where the cool, new features keep coming so fast that I can’t keep up with them. For example, at the exact moment I thought, “hmm, wonder if there’s a solution for a BLE-based plant care sensor out there?” By the time the slow boat from China arrived with my sensors, HA and ESPHome had just been updated with the exact feature I needed, and then updated again within a week to fix the exact bug that was blocking me. Amazing! I tell all my friends how amazing a project HA (and ESPHome) is!

I just want to add how Home Assistant helps me in my everyday life. I acquired a spinal cord injury six years ago. Since then I’ve been in a wheelchair and have limited functions in my arms and almost nothing in my hands or fingers. I live “alone” in my apartment, but I still have personal care assistants around me 24/7.
So the little things like unlocking the door, pulling down the blinds, controlling lights, heaters, AC, bed, TV, media and more. All that would only be possible if I ask my assistant to help me with every little thing like changing channels or muting the volume when I take a call.
Before the accident I used Home Assistant because it was nice and fun, today the same reasons still apply, but now it’s a necessity for me. The product enables me to become a more “whole” person.
I want everything that is critical for me to be locally controlled, I can control everything with my mobile, but I also use voice control (Google assistant). That is not critical, just “a nice to have” the possibility to leave my arms under the cover when in bed to turn off lights and TV. People talk about the wife approval factor (WAF), for me it has to work with new personnel so nothing can be left to chance.

Things that I still haven’t figured out how to automate or control via Home Assistant is: nose picking and scratching my itches.
