WTH Why is there no UI Entity editor to delete old and false entities?

Many Devices, especially ZWAVE, but all really, originally scanned in entities like “humidity sensor” for Light dimmers and Blind controllers. Rather than editing the raw config files and risking breaking the system, WTH is there not a UI to search and delete these items.

There is.

Settings → Devices & Services → Entities tab.

Then on the left you can filter by “Not provided” in the “Status” section.

You can then multi-select and delete (in the overflow menu).

Ignore the fact that I have “Enabled” selected. It was so I had something to select. I don’t have any “Not provided” entities.

Thanks Tom, I’ll check it out when I am back from a work trip; I am pretty sure I tried that a while ago, but the next dialog that popped open had a greyed out delete button.

I will revisit and see how I go.

If the delete button is greyed out, that means there’s an integration still providing the entity. You should be disabling the entities at that point, that will remove them from memory and the entity dropdown lists. The device and entity page will still show them as disabled.

Thank You!

I knew this existed and still wasn’t able to find it, so this was super helpful!

Thankyou, I managed to delete several entities, but then I became stuck with these (see below), it isnt clear how to kill these, they don’t seem to be valid attributes of the switch
