Would be nice to login from devices without proper physical or virtual keyboards like a smart watch, tv or vr headset. Typing a strong password is not easy from those devices. Possibly there is a solution like approve a new session from another device and optionally set a userid. It could be done in a secure way, i think, just like pairing a device.
For non-admin usage of homeassistant the userid/password is often the only time you need a keyboard.
Just a note: WTH month has ended. Also: Is this is your biggest WTH? Are TVs and VRs your primary use case for HA? I really like this idea, though, especially HA in VR. Here’s some alternatives:
- Set up Trusted Networks, and then just choose which user to login as
- Plug a Chromecast in to your TV
