Hopefully, this is the right place to discuss this.
Currently, I am looking for my options for lighting switches and many other devices available at the market. I liked a Chinese product from a company called “Wulian”. They used Zigbee protocol as I understand. My question is this product or any other product using Zigbee protocol able or compatible with Home Assistant without any issues?. I am building a new house, and worried to buy a bunch of smart devices that are not able to be integrated with Home Assistant!.
First of all; to use zigbee with home assistant you will need a zigbee hub. There are multiple options to choose from, that will integrate with HA. The 3 most popular are SmartThings, Zigbee2MQTT and deCONZ.
As zigbee is an open standard it would be possible for the dev’s of these hubs to integrate the Wulian products. But as far as I can see none of the integrations has support for these devices yet.
