Installing the Wyoming integration requires entering host and port. The Integration documentation explains neither. So, I left port at “0” and entered the IP of my HA system. Result is “Failed to connect”. Changed port to 8123 to get “Unknown error occurred”. Tried an arbitrary port, 777, with the result “Failed to connect”. Very poor start for me. Can someone tell me how to install Wyoming (the integration documentation surely doesn’t)?
Only work with Whisper and Piper I think
Indeed. And you first need to install those, either via addon or docker.
Then piper is (by default) port 10200 and whisper 10300.
Thank you. I’m getting the hang of it now.
Sorry to ask but NOBODY explains how to connect to the Wyoming Protocol
I have a host and port to specify when i want to install the integration, i don’t know these informations; i can’t find anyting on the Internet !
same here, see this thread and yet it still isn’t answered explicitly
found it elsewhere so pasting here too:
I am running home assistant supervised on debian.
Goto settings → Add-ons:
- Install piper form the Add-on section
- Run piper in the Add-on section
- Install whisper from the Add-on section
- Run whisper form the Add-on section
Goto settings → Devices & Serivces → Integrations
- Add the wyoming integration
- piper and whisper are detected automatically → no “host & port” popup appears
what is the host and port number?
I have tried 'home assistant:local" as the host and put 8123 as the port.
what am i doing wrong?
Not reading the doc, or even the thread you’re posting to?
I reply just beacuse it’s not completely clear expecially for who is using docker installation of HA, piper and whisper.
In the Wyoming integration popup you should put once piper host and port and adding a second Wyoming integration with whisper host and port
