Ok so thanks to “Wyze bridge / Wyze docker” I am now able to have wyze cams live view without RTSP, all I had to do was login and start the server, so easy!
So the camera live stream is done, now it would be cool if someone could figure out how to access the DOORBELL BUTTON via the API just like people figured out the Wyze robot vacuum. If someone figured out how to implement that doorbell button I can think of a couple automation it can be used in and it would be awesome and complete the whole integration since its finally easy to get the live view now.
I was able to run wires to the speaker inside the chime that comes with the wyze doorbell, and then connect that to a circuit that trips a relay whenever votage to the speaker gets above 3V. I then connected that relay to my ELK alarm system so that I can have a way to trigger events when the doorbell button is pressed. But that is a total Rube Goldberg. With the integration written by @JoshuaMulliken, I was hoping there would be an easier way.
That seems very complicated haha, let me know if there’s a video showcasing as I’m considering buying a 2nd chime to mess with, don’t have really any wiring experience so I’ll probably get help from my dad. But a guide would help so I can at least get an idea of what to do!
I set it up so a doorbell press or doorbell detecting a person will turn on a wyze switch (that is plgged in but doesnt have anything plugged into it) for just a minute. Then in home assistant, I have an automation that says if the plug is turned on, it will bring the front doorbell cam to full screen on my tablet for 20 seconds.
