Wyze sense v2

I just saw on the wyze website that v2 is now listed. Does anyone know if the entry sensor and or the motion sensor can be used with home assistant? I have v1 and they work but they have major issues with the battery failure / mac address.
I just got off the phone with Wyze and they told me the new version 2 will not work with the old hub and the old sensors will not work with the new hub. Time to switch to a different vendor for contact and motion sensors!

Im definitely staying on top of this. V2 is using rf in the 900khz range similar to v1. I. Surprised they didnt offer backwards compatibility considering the issues with their v1 hardware. Still, i like the idea of sensors which wont interfere with my wifi.

Hopefully some integrations like the one offered up by kevinvincent with v1 will be not far behind.

Where do you see new wyzesense? I still get the, “stay tuned for next gen”.

It is list under their security system.

Ahhh, yes I see. Doesnt look as small as the V1 either.

Wyze have screwed the open source community too many times to forgive. Their products are cheap, but I feel like you subsidize the cost with your privacy. And when people start using things like the Wyze Sense integration for HA or the Dafang hack, they “upgrade”.

Nah, there are plenty of other options. If you want to stay away from Zigbee to keep out of 2.4 GHz, there are plenty of ZWave and other random manufacturers. The Sonoff 433 MHz RF bridge is really cheap, and it can be easily Tasmotized.

There is no need to fund flimsy, Mickey Mouse, proprietary, closed source mongers like Wyze.

I will confirm I have my v2 sensors paired with the v1 usb bridge.
