Just posting this for general knowledge. If you have a Wyze sense v1 hub, you CAN pair Wyze v2 units with it. I bought some Wyze v1 stuff (motion, open close) right before they stopped making them.
I am still using them in the house because honestly, its been a rock solid system. Great range even without a mesh system.
So now wyze v2 says you must buy their new home monitoring system to use the new sensors. Buts thats not true. I bought some v2 open/close and motion sensors, both were able to pair to my wyze v1 hub plugged into my HA blue without issue.
Did you use the Wyze Sense HACS integration to achieve this? I have v1 sense hardware up and running directly with HA, but am considering adding a few more contact/motion sensors with v2 hardware (unless you recommend a better/cheaper product).
I can attest as well. Wyze Entry Sensor v2 (Wyze Sense Contact Sensor V2) does indeed work with Wyze Sense HACS integration via the Wyse v1 hub flawlessly. Thank you for this post!
I have a wyze sense hub and I am actually a paying customer of the home monitoring service. Does anyone know if I purchase the wyze sensor bridge (v1), will i be able to pair it to the v2 sensors simultaneously with the hub? I want to keep my home monitoring, but I would like home assistant integration so I can program things like door open announcements to my Google hub or Amazon alexa.
I tried to add a temperature sensor. HA says its found it, but it never shows up in entities. Tried a restart and complete reboot. Maybe something has changed with newer V2 wyze devices?
Is there any updates on use of the v1 legacy usb dongle with v2 motion sensors in homeassistant? Looked and see nothing, have access to a few v2 sensors and have v1 sense setup but is it worth the work to get in home sssistsnt?
I am phasing out all my Wyze sensors mainly because out of the 3 protocols I run (Zwave, Zigbee, Wyze), my Wyze dongle fails the most. Which isnt often, but maybe once every few weeks which then requries a HA restart which 8 out of 10 times works, but sometimes I have to restart a few times.
