FYI to anyone out there looking for quality contact and motion sensors, Wyze Sense is the way to. Integration is a breeze, they work great, and are VERY cost effective. Also, Wyze has been messing up on their shipping and shipping double the order recently. I’ve had three separate orders through them; each one they shipped me double what I ordered. Might order more to try and capitalize on their error some more. Hoping this’ll be helpful for anyone on the fence out there.
Interesting… I just had the same situation happen. Ordered one pack of contact sensors, got two. Contacted them and they thanked me for letting them know and told me to keep them.
I would like to echo how well these Wyze Sense sensors had worked for me and thank kevinvincent for the easy wyzesense integration through HACS. Price is quite reasonable to begin with.
These sensors are SMALL, the PIR is way more responsive and have wide coverage.
I stocked up with the Wyze cam + Sense Starter packages to have backups, and ugprades for any problematic door sensor/PIR.
If anyone is in the market for door/PIR sensor, these are worth trying.
Good job, Wyze!!

Just set some up tonight that I got as a gift yesterday. Seems when they sit idle they show in Lovelace as unavailable. Opening/Closing the sensor or motion brings them back and they show as available again. Is there a setting I’ve missed somewhere to keep them alive?
I’m having a similar issue with one of my contact sensors. It was working fine for weeks but now it just says unavailable and remains that way even after opening and closing it many times. Were you able to fix yours?
I did get mine working. There was an update to the WyzeSense component in HACS which deals with a phantom sensor that gets added sometimes. Doesn’t quite sound like the same issue though since yours does not come back after open/closing. Check the facebook group, that’s ultimately how I got my issue resolved. They published the update after I asked my question there.
Good luck, these things work REALLY well. I’m about to order a bunch more.
Can you share your config setup ?
All I have in config is this:
binary_sensor:
- platform: wyzesense
device: auto
The issue was more with the component that gets installed including a false sensor with a mac of all zeros. I initially installed (version 6) from HACS but had to manually update as the current version (version 7) that is supposed to fix this issue was not available through HACS yet. It’s been fine ever since.
Using it on an Rpi 4 with a usb extension cable.
Got it working thanks anyhow
Would this component work if you connect a 2nd Wyze hub/bridge to your HASSIO Server? We would need at least 2 due to the layout of our home.
Hello all! Has anyone got the wyze sense integration to work with just a cam + the usb add on? I have two door sensors and a motion sensor running. They work and respond in the app. I am running the flashed firmware so I can stream a view in lovelace (which works great). Maybe that’s it?
Oh wow never mind…I actually followed the instructions the second time, plugged the usb hub direct into my HA machinge (pi4). Restarted and bang! all sensors showed up. I can’t believe how well these sensors work setup like this and HOW RESPONSIVE they are on the dashboards. THANK YOU!!!
The reason I embarked on the HA train is because I wanted to use the Wyze Sense sensors. I wrote all kinds of code to accommodate human behavior to make the alarm system responsive and forgiving. When it detects my iphone gone and my wife’s is home, my sonos plays a message every time a door is opened, if she is opening the door she won’t hear it, but if she’s not opening a door then she wants to know, because the alarm might not be set…I digress, that is 1 example of many. The problem: Wyze hardware. At this point I have had 4 contacts stop working, dead as doornail. Wyze sense stops reporting globally, requiring a reboot, not of HA, but the pi. I also wrote something could to predict a global wyze failure based on motion sensor activity subsequent to a garage door open (not wyze because they are wired to an esp8266). No activity after a garage door open after 10 minutes ? Reboot the pi.
This is complete BS, to code around 1/2 ass sensors. It has been a complete waste of time (debugging and coding around failures). So now I am finally going to pay $100s of dollars to have wired sensors run in my house and just connect them to a couple esp8266s.
This not to knock the efforts to integrate Wyze sense to HA, merely a warning not to invest $ or confidence in Wyze sense junk.
