it will be not installed in HA, no version of paho-mqtt 2.x, there is always an issue with HA OS
you can take a look there, it´s supported
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
It is stated that the SC07-WX is “partly supported”. Do you (or anyone else) know what that means / what the current limitations are? What I’m looking for is having HA-senors for smoke, CO and Battery, if the alarm could also be activated by HA (to be used as a burglar alarm) that would be an added bonus.
Sorry to be annoying about this i just want to avoid ordering 400 bucks worth of detectors without being sure they do what i need them to do.
Also it seems this involves going through the X-Sense App. Does this mean the integration depends on the X-Sense cloud or does it communicate with HA locally? Since the the House is extremely remote and internet is kinda wonky, this is important. Ideally I would want to forego the app alltogether and add the sensors directly to Home Assistant, but I suppose that is not (yet) an option?
Does enabling polling for updates drain additional battery from the smoke detectors?
The entire X-Sense integration in Home Assistant is currently cloud-dependent. There are plans to enable the alarm functions of the smoke detectors to be controlled via Home Assistant in the future, but it is still unclear when this will be implemented. The “partly supported” status refers to the XP0A-MR model. The SC07-WX, however, is fully supported. When additional features will be integrated is unknown, as it’s unclear when the responsible developer, Theo, will have time for this.
I see, thank you very much for clarifying!
Cloud dependency is a pity, but I understand that it is probably the easiest, if not only way to get this working.
Is it possible to trigger smoke detectors via a command etc.?
not yet, it will be a feature in the future.
How about creating an add-on that runs in a docker? Should be no longer a problem to bump to 2.x then
Hello there,
Just stumbled upon this topic to integrate my new SC07-WX, but it doesn’t work (similar API issues during initialization). However, I can notice that you updated the plugin in May to 1.0.8, but I can see 1.0.7 on my side (although I just installed the integration). How am I supposed to upgrade?
Furthermore, I’m a github user, and I cannot see any release on GitHub - Elwinmage/ha-xsense-component: Home assistant component for X-sense devices. Is it another package?
Thank you,
Ben
i dont know
that is the wrong repo, watch post 242
You have to use this repo:
Hi there, I have successfully integrated my SC07-WX into HA.
The carbon monoxide value is displayed as I expected. But where is the status of the smoke detector? This is normally indicated with “clear” or “detected”. But I cannot find a sensor for this. Or is it “hidden” in the alarm status “on” and “off”?
i think it must be the alarm status,
but i am not sure
It´s possible to change the sensor settings. On choosing “Smoke” at “Show as” the status changes from “off” to “clear”
hi all,
I’ve been too busy with other things lately, but finally had some time this weekend and looked at some issues.
After my previous release home-assistant updated paho-mqtt to version 2, which broke some things.
I also saw some reconnect-issues, sometimes it failed and it would no longer try to reconnect.
Both issues are fixed now, I have a stable mqtt-connection on my prod HA-instance that is running 2024.10.1 and have realtime updates for my temperature-sensors.
We’ll try to update hacs module soon, so you can test it as well.
I haven’t read the latest messages here yet, but will reply soon.
Theo
Hi, I cannot add the integration: Der Konfigurationsfluss konnte nicht geladen werden: 500 Internal Server Error Server got itself in trouble
Thanks for working on it again Theo. I updated my version via HACS, however this I’m running into some issues with the devices. I also updated the core version to 2024.10.1 as well. Do you got any idea what could be causing this?
