Xiaomi Aqara Gateway: discovered but can't connect

Hi all
Running HA on RPI4, I have an Aqara Gateway (lumi.gateway.v3).
I’m getting the gateway discovered:

but when i try to set the network interface to use (“any” or the HA ip) im getting this message:

What am i doing wrong? what should I change?

I eventually had to open the ports by soldering and connecting it to USB directly using this manual. after that it worked like charm.
