Xiaomi Aqara Motion Sensor

Hi all,

i’ve got 2 questions rg. the Aqara motion sensor:

I use it with the deconz add-in and a conbee in hass.io

Question:

  1. When i activate it it switches to “Detected” and stays in this state for ~ 60 seconds even though theres no motion anymore. I’M just wondering if thats the normal/Deisred behaivour
  2. Is the light meter (lux) working usually. Because i only see values between 0 and 20 and also they are not really updated frequently. (this is the case in HA, but also in the deconz/phoscon web ui.

  2. Normal depending on location. I put one at outdoor but sheltered. It reaches 1000 when there is sunlight. At night time with lights on, it stays around 20. When lights off, it goes down to 1-3. The lux value doesn’t update regularly unless motion is detected. The lux value is sent together with the motion signal. Otherwise it will update every few hours.

  1. Ok good. but one more clarification. The 60 seconds start when I first activate the sensor, not when the last movement is detected - correct? Im Asking because I have an automation which turns the light of once s sensor switches back to “clear” which leads to light going on and off while I’M moving in the room.
    E.g. I testet to Go into the room (t=0s), move around a bit and leave the room (t=30s). The motion sensor than switches to “clear” after another 30s (t=60s)
    Wouldn’t it be better to start the 60s delay after the last movement was detected?

  2. Ok, got it. So the sensor is not 100% usable to check light level before switching with the motion sensor.
