Xiaomi - Maximum number of devices per hub

i have over 20 devices on a single hub, from temp and motion sensors to aqara wall switches. I have noticed that the hub or HA locked up and wasn’t updating state at some point. ie one of my wall switches isn’t being registered by HA.

Is there a limit to the number of devices? How many are you using?

thanks.

(note i am starting a different thread for xiaomi to try and make answers a little easier to find in the future!)

Hello, Andrea
Thank you for the inquiry.
A Xiaomi multi-functional gateway can connect up to 30 sub devices. (Up to 30 devices.)

Thanks @etsmc,

I wonder if this has since changed with a subsequent firmware upgrade. I can count 36 devices on my v2 gateway. All are functioning correctly without slowdowns and no weird errors when adding new devices. And all are showing up in HA.

I’m having exact problem like yours today after adding an additional gateway to homeassistant. Certain devices (switches) state gets synced and can be triggered by HA, but some can’t. If I trigger them via the xiaomi home app, it works. It looks like a HA issue.

Have you found a solution?
