I’m a newbie with HA. Only a few months into it and enjoying doing different automations. That was until I thought it would be interesting to take on the local voice assistant…
For the last week, I’ve been trying to figure out how to set up my Xiaomi Smart Speaker (IR Control) to be the mic for local voice assistant. I came across the hass-xiaomi-miot add-on which I was able to setup. At least, it could find my smart speaker and it shows up. However, this is the end of my success. I did do a whole a different tutorial with setting up whisper and piper. That part does work when I use the mobile app. As for the speaker, I can speak and yell my head off without any effect, except for my wife, who looks at me like I should be a permanent resident of the lunatic asylum.
I’m not sure what I’m missing. Any help is appreciated.
