I added it for zigbee integration, but I only see the battery status. How can I see the status of the button?

You won’t see those. These are events and you need to program them through automations with trigger MQTT. I can t provide an example now, but can do later if you wish.

Are you using the ZHA integration? If so, no need for MQTT.

You set the trigger to listen to events.
