Yale Assure Lock 2 questions (Wifi, keyed, touchscreen)

Apologies for yet another Yale Assure Lock 2 post. I can’t seem to find answers to the following questions. I am interested in getting the Yale Assure Lock 2 (Wifi, keyed, touchscreen).

  1. Is the August Connect Wi-Fi Bridge required? I can’t see a reason for it considering the lock is already Wifi.
  2. When using the lock via the august integration…
2.1. How does communication work to the lock? Does Home Assistant make a call to the Yale cloud service and it’s the Yale cloud service that communicates to the lock or is all the communication strictly between the lock and Home Assistant?
2.2 Does the lock still function without Internet access (likely answered by 2.1)
  3. Are lock combinations stored in HA or only configured via the Yale cloud service?

Lots of intertwined and related questions, thanks for the help.

Did you ever find answers to this?
