I just installed a Yale Assure 2 Lock (YRD450) with a Z-Wave Module. I’ve got the lock setup to use the Yale App on my phone for setting up user codes, etc. and I’ve got it connected as a Z-Wave Device in HA.
Question: Is there any benefit to also having the Yale Access Bluetooth Integration setup in HA?
I’ve been examining this myself. From what I can see, the BT integration allows you to buy the cheaper Bluetooth only version. However, many people prefer z-wave for various reasons. If you have a robust z-wave network already installed, this may provide a better connection without adding a BT proxy device.
Thanks for your comments. I only have 3 Z-Wave devices connected to HA (including the new lock), but the lock’s connection seems pretty solid. I can also control locking/unlocking of this lock, reading battery percentage, door lock status, etc. in HA, so I think I’m good then.
