Yale Assure Lock (YRD256) works with the AYR-MOD-ZW3

I have been having so many issues with my Yale Lock just in the last few months, using the ZW2 module, normally resulting in HA deciding the lock is dead.

I saw the thread on the newer locks being upgraded to ZW3, but none on the YRD2xx series.

The module arrived, install and setup easy, and it is now using S2. I’ll see if this helps my network issues.

ID: 55

Ready: Yes

Highest security: S2 access control

Z-Wave Plus: Version 2

Now that it has been a few months is it still performing well? I am currently having an issues with My ZW2 module saying dead after a recent update, but rebuilding the route fixes it temporarily. Within about 5 minutes it is dead again.

All my locks are now using the ZW3 module, and I could not be happier. It just works, so reliable.

@wellsi Do you use DoorSense at all? Do you have Bluetooth access through the Yale or August app? I’m trying to switch from the old August modules to ZW3, and while ZW3 worked well, I couldn’t additionally get Bluetooth access.

I have six YRD256’s, so I’d love to figure this out.

What are you using to manage them? Keymaster?

I believe Bluetooth is built into the locks themselves (it’s available without a smart module at all) so I don’t think adding the Smart Module will get you that. Why do you want Bluetooth if the z-wave is working fine?

For DoorSense, you need to set a config param as described here, and it should work: Experiences with a Yale Assure Lock 2 (YRD420) and a 700 series Smart Module (AYR-MOD-ZW3) · zwave-js/node-zwave-js · Discussion #5391 · GitHub

Does anybody know if the YRD410-ZW2 (the keypad variant that includes the old ZW2 module) is compatible with the newer ZW3 module?

The Z-Wave JS GitHub seems to indicate it might not?
