Yale Smart Alarm

Yale has a new range of smart alarms that integrate with the Yale Home app as part of their new ecosystem.

Are there any plans to add support for these with Home Assistant?

Second this thanks!

This integration depends on whether I subscribe to Home Assistant Cloud. I recently installed this alarm system and I’m genuinely impressed with it. I’m always happy to contribute to projects and integrations like this. Previously, I used my old Yale alarm effectively with Home Assistant, especially using the “home” and “away” entities. Looking forward to seeing how this one integrates!

The new hub has not been intergrated yet despite the older sync one not being on sale, this means until the dev of the intergrations @bdraco gets a unit to play with we wont see it, maybe you can start a go fundme @bdraco to see how many takers really want this integrated into home assistant  I would donate

Not too sure where bdraco is based but happy to send mine if based in the UK.

I looked at his GitHub page. The guy seems like a genius. Has anyone asked him about this? I would definitely donate something for this.

I asked him about 2 months ago and he said he wouldn’t be developing the alarm aspect for the new alarm ecosystem.

Okay, so that’s bad news, right? I’m not sure if it’s a stupid question; I’m new to Home Assistant. Do you think anyone else could do it, or is that it?

Finally found this would LOVE to get this integrated I know this thread has been quiet for a while but wonder if there is any way forward on this?

I am also interested, any chance someone could pick this up?

Hey everyone!

I’ve been working on a custom integration for the new Yale Smart Alarm ecosystem and it’s been running stable on my setup for about 3 weeks now.

What’s supported:

  • :lock: Smart Lock (lock/unlock, door state, battery)
  • :rotating_light: Alarm Control Panel (arm home/away, disarm)
  • :satellite: All sensors (contact, motion, shock, smoke, keyfob, panic button)
  • :thermometer: Temperature sensors
  • :battery: Battery monitoring
  • :gear: Hub settings (siren/chime volume, tamper detection, RF jam detection, etc.)

The repo is currently private as I’ve been focused on Tado CE, but I’m keen to gauge interest before making it public. If there’s enough demand I’ll release it for everyone.

:point_right: If you’d like to see this released, please star the repo: hiall-fyi/yale_smart_alarm · GitHub

Once it hits 100 stars I’ll open it up as a public HACS integration.

Works with the new Yale Home app ecosystem (not the old Yale Sync). Tested on the UK system but built to support all regions (EU, US, China, Korea, Australia/NZ).

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ve been desperate for this and looks like you managed to create something works.

Can I give you the other 96 stars you need somehow so it can go public?!

Thank you for your time, effort energy and skill, it is much appreciated.

so I guess this is not going to be made public then, which I dont get, especially after putting 1000s of hours into custom icons for ha and not saying unless I get this I wont make it public.

I’m not sure I understand the logic behind the 100 stars before releasing.

Just release it anyway and let people buy you a coffee or donate for your efforts.

Was typing up a response and deleted it again, however just wanted to let you know I agree with your logic. Not sure they have the HA-community mindset…
