Iām just trying to stay out of the kitchen on this one, and leave our engineers to do what they do. I did hear that we gave them our logo the other day. I think that is one of the last things on their list. I think we are getting very close.
Been watching the dev(s ?) in GitHubā¦ seems to be daily work from one specific developer so theyāre working hard. Looks like unit tests were tripping them up but that has been resolved. It looks like right now theyāre waiting on some UI push to happen within Home Assistant core before they can proceed further.
On a side note, I donāt see any FCC filings yet for this new local hub/hat. Is that still in the prototype phase or is there a legitimate product that is in the works for certification? If you need a tester, I wouldnāt mind putting my hands on one!
Iām excited that YoLink + HASS integration is still in the cardsā¦ holding off on buying more YoLink products for now but once this goes live, my home will be quickly changing a lot of existing sensors over to YoLink for sure.
I am using HA big time and now have dozens of YoLink devicesā¦ I truly cannot wait for this either! Iāve been using IFTTT as a workaroundā¦ but boy is it SLOOOOOOOWWWW!!!
Iām certainly not a power user but I canāt think of a scenario to pull the temperature data through IFTTT. I think it can only be used for triggers. Then again, Iām using Alexa for my triggers (for now) so Iām not 100% sure.
Starting today and running at least two weeks past the release of 2022.6, I will create a special new customer rebate for HA users. This will be in the form of a refund for your hub purchase, for orders $100 and up on shop.yosmart.com site (only). Email your order number to me, I will refund you the cost of the individual hub, or the value of it in a kit. Some fine print: the normal $10 or 15 savings of a kit reflects a discount off the hub-only price, so you are free to make your own kit. Also, canāt be combined with other offers. We have a 60 day return policy and a 2-year warranty on most of our products. Mechanical products like the valve and lock products, we do not make so we only extend their 1-year warranty to you (exception being the new X3 line of commercial grade devices: if you get an X3 valve controller kit, the Bulldog or motorized valve gets a second year coverage added, to match that of the other devices).
I apologize in advance for the sorry state of our website, which is slowly undergoing an update. Let me know if you have any questions, canāt find something, etc. Weāve been growing rapidly and the website has been a little neglected, but there are plans to add a full-featured support area, including for integrators and developers (we continue to try to show we are integrator-, developer-, automation enthusiast-friendly), and just more comprehensive info and system builders in our promotional/shopping areas. Relatedly, when you reach out to me with your order info, I will get you set up on our developer/integrator and Power User groups on Discord.
I do recommend getting a SpeakerHub, as you need at least one hub. Itās WiFi-only, as a downside for some of you but itās our audio hub, that can play tones/sounds, text-to-speech custom messages, and now with the recent app update you can upload your own audio files. Full support for this feature in the API is coming soon.
PS: weāll have a big announcement soon, Iāve been told to keep it under wraps, but some of you are going to pee your pants a little bit. I look forward to saying more, when I can!
