YoLink Temperature and Humidity Sensor for Refrigerators

I just wanted to let everyone know about the YoLink Temperature and Humidity Sensor I am using for my Refrigerator and Freezer. Here is the link on Amazon:

I replaced my AQARA Temperature and Humidity sensor that was draining the battery very quickly. Also according to my instant read thermometer, the YoLink seems to be much more accurate. I am using the YoLink integration with them to communicate in Home Assistant. Granted that this does make these sensors cloud dependent, but for those, like me, who want to monitor the refrigerator or freezer temperature, this is a very cheap and accurate way to do it.

I will report back in the future to tell everyone how they hold up and how their battery lasts. I just wanted to give everyone an alternative way ( I know…I know… it’s not local) to monitor the status of these type of items.

I used little Grove sensors: pretty accurate, local, batteries seem to last a long time.

Yes, I went with the YoLink since they were much more economically feasible for me since I already had the hub. I have been very impressed with their accuracy.

I do not have any comments on the battery life yet but they do use 2-AAA batteries which are easy to get and cheap. HA is reporting back they are still at 100%, but you really have to take that with a grain-of-salt.

Also being LORA, they do not conflict with my Wi-Fi and they have no problems with distance seeing I have one in a Porch fridge, a garage Freeze, and house fridge.

I didn’t mean to disparage YoLink: I have a couple of their water sensors & a vibration sensor on my mailbox & my “deliveries” box. Very satisfied.

I last replaced the batteries on my YoLink freezer sensor 16 months ago, and they are reporting 50% currently. And with the new (though expensive) hub, the data is all local via matter. Very satisfied.
