Been reading up on these and in looking through forum it’s unclear if this model will work locally or even via cloud. Any thoughts?
Possibly both.
From the Amazon page you linked to:
“Say goodbye to manual operation and enjoy the convenience of controlling your retractable roller shades via the app or remote. With a Bluetooth motor, you can control up to 3 electric blinds through the Yoolax Home App, while the 16-channel remote can manage up to 16 automatic roller screens. For integration with Alexa, Google Assistant, and more, a Bluetooth Hub is required.”
Not sure what a “Bluetooth motor” is. ![]()
Did you opt for the direct phone control via BlueTooth, or did you get a hub as well?
Did you choose BluTooth, ZigBee, or the Matter version?
You may be up for some intensive reverse engineering if an integration doesn’t exist for HomeAssistant and you wish to be cloud free.
Haven’t bought it yet just exploring. Would Zigbee be best ?
Will you need more equipment and integration to make it work well with HomeAssistant?
I have no idea if it can integrate. But, at this point the price point + solar is probably winning out on whether it works with HA or not.
Ask for a spare remote which you may need to hack to get some form of automation control.
You may need some form of hub, whether ZigBee or BlueTooth.
Factor that into your cost equation before deciding.
