Hello everyone ,
So I have more than 100 bulbs in our hostel and a common mistake is that many of our guests don’t understand how to turn on or off their lamps using the Shelly button
https://www.shelly.cloud/en/products/shop/shelly-button
And it’s actually kind of clunky… so after a lot of headhacke and research …. I have found a solution from two users of our forum. I’m sure many of you genius already knew this , but for mere mortals like me , only now I was able to use the regular lamp switch and a shelly 1 or any other Shelly device that lets you detach the switch.
So the process is simple. 1st thing is that you must find a 3 wire cable. you will need this because we want the lamp to have continuous power. and then the third wire, its going to be used to power the button SW. Please have a look at this tutorial .
After you have completed this step, you ned to use the option detach from your Shelly config. after you ahve done this, you will see that you regular switch needs to be pressed on and off to toggle the light.
and now the next and final step is that you are no longer using the Shelly.click Function. you are going to do this tutorial .
So basically you need to activate the binary and voila! now every time you swithc the light toggles!
I hope this Helps cause it helped me alot!!!
