Z-wave configuration/load error

Help!
I successfully installed an 800-series Zooz z-wave stick in my HA installation (running in a VM on a Windows machine). I spent the weekend excluding my z-wave devices from Smartthings and adding them to HA, which worked perfectly.
Then, sometime last night, Z-wave automations stopped responding. When I checked the VM this morning, I find the following error: “Z-Wave JS: Failed setup, will retry: None”.
When I click on “Configure”, I’m asked if I want to use the Z-Wave Supervisor add-on," and when I confirm and submit, the config file comes up prepopulated. Submitting that returns an error of “value must be one of ”.
Has anyone any idea what’s going on? I don’t have a problem deleting the integration and adding it again, but what happens to my z-wave devices in the meantime? Should I disable those and re-add them one by one? Or should they show up as soon as I reinstall the z-wave integration?
I should add—I’m an HA newbie, and at this point I can’t even find the z-wave logs…
Thanks in advance for any help!

Are you running both ZWave JS UI addon and the Zwave JS addon?

I see “Z-Wave JS” running in add-ons, and yes, I see the logs there!
At some point this morning, I see:

There are a number of entries after that alternating between “all queues idle” and “one or more queues busy”.

Does that help?

You might want to look for some issues related to 800-series Zooz and also make sure you’re on the latest firmware.

I’m definitely on the latest firmware. I rebooted and got the same error, and then I saw that the server was stopped. When I try to start it back up again, this is the error I get:

“Device ‘/dev/serial/by-id/usb-Zooz_800_Z-Wave_Stick_533D004242-if00’ does not exist in Z-Wave JS (core_zwave_js).”

I’m not entirely sure what that means…can someone interpret it for me, please?

Thank you!

Check your hardware list and see if the zstick is listed there. If not, you have to unplug and replug it in.

I’m guessing you did a reboot? In all honesty, you very rarely ever need to reboot. You can get away with just restarts.

Okay, now I’m beyond confused. I’m not entirely sure what I did, but as I worked through various troubleshooting steps (and was panicking a little because I couldn’t seem to find the z-wave stick listed anywhere in the system), between reboots (yep, I tried rebooting), restarts and goodness knows whatever else, all of a sudden, it looks like my z-wave connection is up and running again:

I’ve absolutely NO idea what I did!

Can you take a screenshot of your addon page?

Settings → Addons

Of course! Here you go:

Yeah, it’s likely the hardware wasn’t seeing the stick. Plug and unplug after rebooting usually does the trick

You can restart HA without having to deal with that. You very rarely need to reboot the OS.

I’ll absolutely try that the next time (though I sincerely hope there isn’t a next time). Thanks so much for all your help, Petro! I really appreciate it.
