Z-Wave devices alive after stick migration but no control entities created

Due to water damage (a post for another day) I had to get a new Home Assistant Green and a new Aeotec Z-Stick 7.

I do have Nabu Casa so, fortunately, I was able to restore my last backup. I had some problems migrating to the new ZStick, but I think it got there, sorta…

The problem is most of my devices appear in the integration and show “Node Status: Alive” and they can be pinged successfully. However, no control entities exist (no light., switch., etc.)
and my dashboard cards all show “entity not found”.

I tried reinterviewing the devices and also recreating the entity IDs, which sometimes said no new IDs will be created. One or two of my devices seem to be recoginzed and fine, but the other ones I can’t seem to get working.

Is there a way to force HA to create the missing light/switch/dimmer entities?

Thank you.

Did you also backup and restore the stick NVM? The stick is holding data on the network. ZWave JS UI has settings for backing that up in its web UI, I do not know if ‘plain’ ZWave JS has scheduled backups for it too or includes it in the regular backup.

If the addon backs up the stick to a file and HA backup backs up the addon, then the file could be part of the backup. But it won’t be restored to the stick when you restore HA automatically.

I did restore the stick NVM as well from the old one. It sees all the devices with the names I gave them, so I’m fairly comfortable that it was done. Plus a few of them are working, but not most of them. My assumption is it wouldn’t see any of them. But I’m not sure what is saved and what is not on HA or the stick.

It feels like they need to be completely restored/refreshed.
