Z-Wave Door and Windows Sensor reporting every 5 seconds

Three days ago I installed a Monoprice Z-Wave Plus Door and Window Sensor. Everything is working correctly but the device is going through 2 AAA batteries each day.

I don’t understand why it’s doing that, but I checked the node information on HA and I can see that the receivedTS field on the node gets updated about every 5 seconds. This explains why the batteries die so fast, but I couldn’t find out why it updates so frequently nor how to increase that time (or remove it altogether and make it that it only reports when the door opens/closes).

Anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this?

Have you looked at the specs for the device and send an update to it telling it how often to update?

The monoprice didn’t seem to offer such an option :frowning:
