What’s the rule of thumb for waiting to update to a new version of Z-Wave JS?
I’m watching all the issues with 2026 and I don’t want everything to break.

I think your concern is real and justified.
I have this feeling in my stomach each time I press update for a new sw version.
In order to get rid of this feeling, I have come to the conclusion that I need a clone of the original disk. So I bought a backup disk.
Before updating any HA SW I clone the disk, in case something goes wrong.
Latly I have experienced that the SW updates have been working very well.
However, yesterday I did not do a clone of my disk when updating to the z-wave js 0.28.0 SW.
Guess what, after updating to z-wave js 0.28.0, I lost contact to 9 of my units.
Today I need to reinterview them.
The units are located all over the house, some even in places that I need to dissmantle furniture that keeps me from accessing the unit…
All in all, I think It is inevitable that we will experience some issues now and then.
Only way is to have a working backup process in place, and use it.
