Z-Wave Key-Fob?

I’d like to get a small Z-Wave keyfob to open/close my garage door.

Are there any secure Z-Wave devices for this?

Fibaro Keyfob. Secure Zwave. 6 buttons, 24 different actions possible.

I had a Fibaro remote for a bit but returned it as the very pretty buttons can be difficult to depress (e.g. the ‘-’ button is a fraction of the size of the ‘X’), and the CR2450 battery cover o-ring seal gets caught in the +ve battery contacts. It is very, very pretty.

Oh, and you need a Fibaro Home Centre to update the firmware as Fibaro are mean and point blank refuse to release the files (had to buy a HC2 Lite to fix major issues with the FGD-212).

Aeotec makes a small (lmatchbook sized) z wave button. They call it the “Panic Button”.

I’m using one as a wireless doorbell button on my front porch. Works pretty good. Been reliable for about a year now.

I thought, and I could be wrong, that z-wave was based on stationary devices and that it cannot support roaming devices as the nearest neighbour discovery process only kicks off once every 24hrs, therefore a remote portable button can’t function as it does not know it’s nearest mesh neighbour…? Was that changed?
