Hi,
First of all, I’m relatively new to the Home Assistant. But I think this behavior is at least unusual, if not buggy… Of course, I might be wrong
My config:
Raspberry Pi 3B
HassOS 3.13
Supervisor 217
AEON Labs ZW090 Z-Stick Gen 5
I have a few nodes in my Z-Wave network.
Three Aeotek Multisensors, an Aeotek WallMote switch and a Fibaro CO sensor.
I add these devices to the network by using the “Add Node Secure” option and they show up, get identified (statuses show as “Compete”) and all is well.
But then I start to customize the entities, under the “Integrations->Z-Wave” menu. What I want to do is, I would like to disable any entities that I don’t really need. Such as “Alarm Level”, “Alarm Type”, or “Battery Level” options (my sensor are USB powered). Effectively I only want to leave the entities that I will be using actively.
When I do this, completely unexpected thing (at least to me) happens. Any Z-Wave node that I edit in such a way, disappears from the Z-Wave network management “Nodes” drop down list. Which means that I cannot edit that node’s parameters from this point onward. Or even see its status.
The only solution I have found was to re-enable disabled entities and then reboot the Raspberry Pi (but even that took me quite a lot of time to figure out, as I was first removing and re-adding the whole Z-Wave integration).
I don’t believe this is supposed to be an expected behavior. I think that the actions that I perform on the “Integrations” page should have no consequences on what I can see and do on the Z-Wave network config page. If anything, it should be the other way around.
Am I missing something?
