Z-Wave over PoE kit

@tube0013
you see anything like this before? it goes over and over.
I tried restart and then rebuild everything, but this just started out of the blue
not sure what could be the problem. figure you might have seen it before.

Is zwave js set up right or in a restart loop?

it was working fine. I did an update of my docker containers and then it started crashing over and over. I have another Zwave over IP and it’s fine. (same upgrade)
I tried to rebuild the esphome config. no change, I also rebuilt multiple times the docker container. no change. I nuked the directories and docker container for this controller, after a rebuild, it still does the same thing. if i shut down the zwavejs container for this controller, the esphome part of it is fine. soon as i start up zwavejs container, it does that on off on off on off bit again. I set up this 2nd controller about 3 weeks ago and it was fine until tonight. however, i have another that is just fine. so i’m now thinking maybe hardware… idk. was curious if you had seen that behavior and what it may be.

I definitely have not heard of this happening with zwave.

If I’m reading it all right, the esp32/ESPHome side of things seems to be functioning okay.

Is the zwave module plugged in the correct way, so the module body is off the esp32?

Do you have another device you could try the zwave module in, a pi?

@tube0013 turns out my issue was with the uext adapter (probably my crappy soldering job)
thanks for a great project!

Love this! They are currently out of stock; is there an ETA?

Hi, I’m pretty backed up on getting orders out, so as soon as I catch up with that I will put more in stock. If you go through and try to add to card you should be prompted to sign up for an alert once they are back in stock. Hopefully by the weekend!

Waiting with bated breath!

Really nice work. Thank you very much!
I always had problems with ser2net and the Raspi. But now everything runs stable and without problems so far
It also works with other Z-Wave modules, e.g. the Z-PI7 from Aeotec.

Which version of the Olimex boards are you folks using? I want to monitor a remote pump and don’t have room for a wall wart to power an ESP32. I need 6 digital Inputs.

I’m in the US in case that matters and plan to use esphome.

Stupid question: Data will flow over the lan via RJ45 right? I don’t want to use WiFi.

Thank you!
