Z-Wave smart plug recommendations (UK)

My gateway drug to Home Assistant was Philips Hue, so I have loads of Zigbee devices (too many bulbs, and loads of motion sensors), but I also bought too many Tuya smart plugs (wifi). I’m now thoroughly convinced of the terrible idea of relying on cloud services for things like that. The new Tuya API has been nothing but trouble. I’d like to try Z-Wave. I have some hub, usb plug thing plugged into the pi running HA, but no z-wave devices. What should I buy to replace half a dozen Tuya plugs? I don’t really need any fancy features beyond on and off. Any recommendations that don’t cost the earth?

I can’t tell you exactly, what to buy.

But just give you a tip: Learn from the mistakes already made, don’t save on stuff like this. If you pay peanuts, you get monkey’s…

My own experience:

The expensiver one’s:

Fibaro, Hank, Technisat (Hank inside), Z-Uno are all extraordinary good. Feels good, work flawlesly, have good config options.

The middle priced one’s:

Neo CoolCam are average. Work well, have some issues.

The supercheap one’s:

Thank god, I did not even try, after seeing the issues with the middle priced one’s

If you do it right, (buy quality stuff, think about placing for good mesh spread, start with a good naming convention), you will get a very reliable , almost error free system.

Thanks. I bought a Fibaro one and it was very easy to set up with with the ZWave to MQTT server and AEON Z-Stick I already had. Ordered three more!
