Z-Wave Switches

Looking for some advice here. I am starting the process of converting my switches to smart switches. I have added a couple of Zooz Zen23 switches. I like them and they function. But I have a 3 way switch right next to one of these that I would like to make smart as well. However it controls a ceiling fan/ Light combo. There is only one switch that controls both the light and fan. When reading through the documentation for these switches, it says not to use for fan control. On my ceiling fan I have installed a remote kit to make the light and fan separate. So with that information in mind, what z-wave plus switch can I use for this setup? Would another one of the Zen23 switches work because of the remote control already installed in the ceiling fan? Or is there something different that you all would recommend?

Thanks for taking the time to read. If this doesn’t make sense or if you need more information please let me know.

why not leave the standard switch in place, left switched on at all times and then automate the light and fan using RF or IR (whichever the existing remote uses)? Otherwise you really need to separate the light and fan wiring to allow independent automated control.

That is an option. But the goal here would be to add more zwave components to help build out the network along with getting all switches to have the same look.

then you really need to get rid of the existing remote and wire the fan and light back to separately controlled z-wave devices. you can use a single z-wave switch or dimmer for the light and a fan controller for the fan and put then both behind a switch plate on the wall which has buttons for both
