Setup:
- Home Assistant 0.99.3 running in Docker on RasPi 4B
- Razberry Z-Wave Hat (Model 5 I believe)
- TKB Home TZ77 RGBW LED Strip Controller
Problem:
Light strip appearing as 5 separate channels in HA GUI. I believe this should just be one standard ‘color picker’ GUI.
Details:
I added the LED Controller to a new setup (this is the first thing I’m adding) and it successfully appeared as a node under ZWave Config. The node appears to have 5 Entities, all with an Unknown name. A bit of playing around shows that 4 of these correspond to dimming R,G,B & W and the final one acts as an overall dimmer but also seems to attempt to act as a full colour control but somehow gets the color completely wrong.
Attempted Fixes:
- I found this discussion about creating a fake MQTT Light to solve the problem, but other than this seeming like a hack, since I don’t have an MQTT broker to begin with I wasn’t sure this would work anyway.
- I found this doc on openhab https://github.com/openhab/org.openhab.binding.zwave/blob/bea7de6d78d5610a129150e2b9c90714967c7a02/doc/tkb/tz77_0_0.md which shows that there should actually be 6 channels. I also found this github issue which showed that the Colour channel was initially not working https://community.openhab.org/t/tkb-tz77-database-correction/64779
I am completely new to HA, but happy to get stuck in with a fix, even if it means a pull request. Any help greatly appreciated!
