Z-Way GPIO and HA on separate RPI4s

Hi, Firstly; noob-alert

I have the current setup:
RPI#1; RPI 4b 8Gb with Debian 64bit + HA Supervised running. Bluetooth active in order to manage Plejd devices.

RPI#2; RPI 4b 4GB with Zway GPIO / UART / Pi hat card and Z-way.me software running.

Iā€™ve been told itā€™s wise to keep the Z-wave gateway separate from the HA installation. This way the Zwave network remain intact no matter what ā€œmoodā€ the HA installation is in.

The Z-way.me has a MQTT add on in their ā€œapp storeā€. Iā€™ve tried to set that up to work with ZwaveJs2MQTT add-on in HA using the Mosquitto add-on. But I found our that ZwaveJS2MQTT still wanted a serial port for the Zwave dongle/cardā€¦ So after many tries I gave up on this.

Instead I tried installing ser2net on RP!#1 and make the AMA0 available on a TCP port.
And install socat on RPI#2 in order to create a virtual serial port for Zwavejs2MQTT.
I tried many various setups but didnā€™t get that to work either.

Iā€™m not sure if any of these two approaches are any good?
If so, my failure is likely due to the fact Iā€™m a newbie to this and Iā€™m trying to follow guides I find in this forum and similar. The issue is I havenā€™t found the exact same use-case, hence Iā€™m not sure how to modify the codes to math my setupā€¦ I I try and try but doesnā€™t seem to get it to work.

I will very soon just buy a Fibaro gateway and use that instead. But every since my Home Center 2 got bricked I promised myself to never spend another $$ with them.
The new Aeon stick compatible with the RPI4 is also an alternative.

But the best and most cost effective way would be to get the hardware I have on hard to function properly. I like the Z-way software, it seems very robust and powerful.

Does anyone run the same setup as I and can guide me through this? Screen shots with the correct settings or links to actual guides where one doesnā€™t have to be fluent in Linux would be awsome

Many thanks!
