Z2M when changing channel, is changing back possible without device repairs?

Hi there,

Searching for a while for this info, but does anyone know if I can change the channel of Z2M back to what it was?

The idea is to Change the Z2M channel, test with a few devices which experience interference the most by repairing them and see if it works out. If so I can continue repairing the other devices, but if not I want to revert my channel back to the old channel (11) so the other devices will continue to work without a hassle.

The only thing is, I don’t know if it works this way can anyone confirm this from experience/knowledge? As I can’t find anything on this on the web and on these forums as well as in the documentation of Z2M.

I would say,
before you make changes :

  • stop zigbee2mqtt
  • backup your data directory (backup.json, coordinator_backup.json, database.db, …)

If you want to revert to previous channel

  • stop zigbee2mqtt
  • restore your backup

it should restore the coordinator to what it was before you changed the channel

Beware: probably only works with a TI coordinator (CC253x, CC52xx, …) not with a conbee or eszp
