ZBT-1 does not find any Zigbee devices

Hi all, first post and admittedly new to HA… I have a HA Green, working just fine. Also purchased the ZBT-1 dongle and that’s also being recognized by HA. ZHA integration is up and running. But…

Adding Zigbee devices (I tried 5 different ones) is not working. HA simply does not find any Zigbee devices. No matter how long I extend the usb dongle cable or how close I put the Zigbee device to the dongle.

What am I missing here?

Cheers,
Robert

What devices are you trying to pair?

Mostly KlikAanKlikUit (doorbell, smart plug) and Frient (smoke detector, CO2 detector).

Presumably you’ve checked compatibility? Frient have a good page about which of their products is compatible with Home Assistant, but I notice they recommend Z2M rather than ZHA.

The Blakadder database of Zibee devices does not mention KlikAanKlikUit and ZHA, but it may be that they haven’t been tested yet.

Looking ahead, you’re going to need some mains-powered devices to create a solid Zigbee network.

Lots of good advice here:

Hmm… looks like I have some reading to do. Thanks for replying!
