ZBT-2 ZHA Zigbee devices appear as devices but do not show up in automations

Installed new ZBT-2Coordinator on Home Assistant Green versions 2026.3.2 and 2026.3.3. Upon pairing new devices (older CentraLite 4257050-rzhac plug modules) devices show up as they should but do not appear in any automation creations (either new automations or added to existing automations) -

the device can be turned off and on via the device list. On the device page itself, I can create an automation using the device as a trigger - but the device appears offline.

If I delete and re-add ZHA - old area names show up as if the prior deletion was not complete. Using file editor to delete the zigbee database in addition to deleteing ZHA does not remedy the problem. All other automations are working perfectly.

Using devices is just setting yourself up for trouble later,
So use entities instead.

Devices will use the default entity anyway, but it does it in a way that makes it extremely hard to replace a device later, because you can not name the new device the same as the old one.
An entity can be renamed, so no need to search for scripts, automations and templates the entity have been used in.
