Zehnder ComfoConnect component

Zehnder has finally pushed a new Comfoconnect app (for Android) that fixes a firmware update issue so it finally allows to upgrade the bridge to 1.5.1.

This firmware fixes the 0 values issue. I was running 1.3.0 before and had the 0 values issue.

Whats the 0 value issue please?

Every hour or so, the bridge would report a 0 value. See https://github.com/michaelarnauts/comfoconnect/issues/44

Too bad I’ve already purchased a ComfoConnect KNX and not the LAN version. Has someone implemented the Comfoair with it already? Have successfully integrated KNX lights and other sensors, so I’m positive to integrate the Comfoair sensors but what about the controls? Only chance to use switches?

Thanks!

I’ve been looking closely at our energy usage via various monitors around the house, including those integrated within the MVHR.

I can see that even though I use HA to turn off the MVHR when we leave the house for example, it will turn itself back on if it thinks it needs to… I see the iOS app has been updated to enable an ‘away mode’ that seems to do the trick.

Is this something that could be included within the integration and tied in to our automations?
I can envisage the pre-heater kicking in when we are out of the house over the winter here and using lots of electricity when we would rather just power it down.

Is there a process I can contribute towards to make this happen?

Thanks,

If you turn on manual mode, it won’t change back after 2 hours. You need to turn on manual mode in the app for now

That’s helpful thanks. Could the ‘manual mode’ switch make it through to HA?

I have prepared a picture elements card for ComfoQ, based on the one @breinonline made

I’m planning to do this if I find the time and courage to do this

Everything works great. Do you have a script that allows you to start the recuperator in automatic mode? I would like the recuperator to go into the away mode after the alarm is triggered and to return to the auto mode after the alarm is turned off.

You should be able to do that with an automation. You can look for the service set.fan_percentage and call for 0 (=away setting), see Fan - Home Assistant

Here in Scotland the temperature fell to 2 degrees celcius of one morning over the weekend, and my household power usage showed an additional 9kWh that I couldn’t attribute to the devices I track.

I suspect this is the pre-heater on the MVHR, however that entity shows a steady ‘0’ for months… Is anyone else seeing power use recorded on the pre-heater entity?

Thanks

OK. But how to turn on the automatic mode of the recuperator program?

You can’t. What you can do is program a schedule in the Q-series menu. If you set it for example to go to speed 1 at 22h, it will thereafter be resetted and on automatic mode again. If you adapt the speed via Home Assistant it will be on manual again. So you can program specific moments that it should return to automatic mode.

Cool trick

I don’t see any updated comfoconnect app in the store ? So I wonder where you got the new comfoconnect app from that allowed you to upgrade the firmware.

Can you maybe provide the apk ? So I can at least upgrade my q600 too. This 0-value problem is there for months and I still don’t have a solution. The firmware upgrade you talked about was almost a month ago? and I still don’t see any update. I have both iOS and Android devices. None of them suggest an update or anything. There’s no firmware upgrade option anywhere I looked

I’ve joined the beta program and that provides the updated APK. I’ve read that some people have succes with contacting Zehnder support.

You can register for the beta an the link below, but I thing they are close to a public release, so not sure if they still accept new beta testers.
