So I have a bunch of Ikea devices in my zha zigbee network.
I use a Rodret switch to turn my living room lights on and off. Long press is used to trigger a scene.
However, one bulb (Trådfri gu10) has developed a native Ikea behaviour with the switch. Long press now also dims this bulb.
– The two have never been paired directly/natively.
– I have no dimming automations or anything other than a scene on the long press.
– The new, dimmer state of the gu10 is not registered in HA after dimming. It is clear something is happening between them «off the records».
It could be that it somehow was directly bound to the remote?
If you go to the device page of the remote, press the three dot menu next to ‘reconfigure’ and press ‘manage’, you can select the ‘bindings’ tab and perhaps see and edit the direct binding?
Do you have a link to a post with a more elaborate explanation? Just to satisfy my curiosity. I have been having mixed experiences with Ikea devices lately so a bit more background knowledge is useful.
There are no direct bindings. Also wouldn´t that update the bulb state in HA after dimming?
If i long press and dim the bulb all the way down, it still shows in HA as 100% (nothing in the logs), indicating that the dimming happens outside of HA(?).
Yes, I know a factory reset will probably fix things, but I am curious as to how this pairing came to be.
As I said, the two devices have never been paired directly Ikea style and were purchased several months between.
In general, I am very happy with all my Ikea devices (bulbs, buttons, door sensors, moisture sensors), especially with the new AAA battery design.
The bulb should always update its state in HA, if it is paired with a coordinator with HA access.
It should not matter how the dimming is occurring.
It might take a few seconds, but it should happen eventually
The abnormal part for the case the OP has would be that this binding happens automatically without the user performing a specific sequence to do this binding.
