ZHA integration hangs on config

Hi,
I am a newbee to HA, I am trying to switch from an Ikea hub, so pls bear with me :smiley:
I installed HA on VirtualBox, I can start it up, and it also sees the network connected and the Sonoff ZBDongle-E through USB. I did not flash the dongle, wanted to go with the most out-of-box solution first.
I see the ZHA integration in discovered integrations:

If I click configure, either the form hangs as there, or it loads, and I can select configure from scratch, and hangs when saying “Loading next steps for zha”.
The VirtualBox image dies at the same time. I could not find anything in the logs at the next time HA boots up.
I have the following version:

  • Home Assistant OS 13.1
  • Home Assistant Core 2024.08.03

The dongle is connected through an extension cable to a HP Elitedesk USSF.
Can you help me with this? :slight_smile:

If Virtualbox is dying at the same time, my money would be on your USB passthrough settings.

I forget what these should be, but there will be guides out there.

Or take the leap and go to proxmox!

There seems to be a compatibility issue with HA running on VirtualBox. I had the same problem last week when I wanted to migrate the coordinator on ZHA.
In the end, I replaced VitualBox with VMware and the problem was solved.
