You should not have to repair any devices if use backup and restore method, however you might need to power-cycle some or all your the devices (or power-cycle main circuit-breaker for the whole house if have redundant power only for Home Assistant with Zigbee adapter) and then it can take up to 24-hours before Zigbee network has healed.

I just wanted to share that the recent migrate functionnality available in the ZHA integration was successful and fast for a CC2531 to SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus-E - EFR32MG21 migration (which is a ZNP to EZSP migration).

I would just recommend indicating that a backup is made before erasing the original key.
