ZHA - Show devices as unavailable when offline

Hi,
I am looking to move from Deconz to ZHA. I have setup ZHA and paired all my devices to that instead of Deconz and so far so good apart from the Ikea blind only showing 50% battery when a query of the attribute returns 99%! Anyway that aside, I have some hue bulbs that are normally turned of via the switch thus removing power and taking them offline (this is fine). With Deconz they then show up on the HA UI as greyed out (unavailable) this is the behavior I would like to replicate with ZHA. When a device is powered off and connected to ZHA the HA UI shows the last state making me think the living room light for example is on when in fact it is not.

Any way I can resolve this or should it do it already and I am being too impatient (waited about 15/20 mins).

Thanks

If this was implemented, somehow you need to have a way to only show devices as unavailable if normally they don’t go into a sleep mode.

Deconz manages it. My mains powered devices show as unavailable my battery ones never do. I am only concerned by the mains powered ones with ZHA

Does this imply it is not something that is supported then?

No, just saying that might be a small barrier from adding this functionality.

Maybe it could ignore battery powered devices, supply type is known.

I am experiencing the same issue. In addition to this, sending a command to an offline device won’t trigger the device to become unavailable.

So, did you move to ZHA? And did you find a solution for this?

Hi,
I stuck with Deconz. I tried to move but this was a show stopper for me unfortunately.

Same here, pretty annoying. Any fix so far?

I think it’s fixed now in ZHA. At least mine is. You may want to look at the ZHA configuration parameters and notice that the default time to report an end point battery powered device going offline is 6 hours. Yes, you can change that.

The “mains” will go un-availiable after the timeout, standard 7200 seconds (2 hours). You can configure the timeout in the ZHA integration configuration, through the UI. Why the mains have high timeout like this I do not know, maybe as some devices report very seldom. If I look at mine, then non of the mains are more than 8 minutes old.

Found it, thanks. I find this still weird though. Why does ZHA not just poll the lights and if they don’t reply they are shown as unavailable? I had Deconz before and there everything worked as expected
