Zigbee controller not turn off led compleetly

hello all

i have just started with home assistant. now i have bought a led setup for our stairs with a rextech zigbee 3.0 led controller and motion sensors. this controller works well, the sensors works aswell. but the only problem. when i configure it in HA the leds wont turn off compleet when the timer of the sensor is over. when i shut it down in HA it works well.

i have tried all kind of cenarios. without controller, leds off compleetly, with controller without linked to HA leds off compleetly, only connected with HA the leds wont go off compleetly.

what can i do about this? it doenst make sense to me that it could be in HA, but it starts happening after the connection with HA.

is it still possible that the controller isnt working properly?

and if it is a controller error, is it an option to put an gledopto gl-c-008 on it instead of the rextech controller? i have 2 of those and no use so far. only thing is, i dont know where to put the 2 cables on. i have a adapter cable with black and red. on the rextech it is just 2 channels of v- and v+. the gledopto has 6 ports. W-C-B-R-G-V+. so now im a bit stuck on what to do

I’m sorry, I’m a little confused.

Do you mean you unplug the LEDs from the controller? Well, yes, if the LEDs have no power, they would be off completely.

If the controller isn’t connected to HA, you would not be able to turn it on, correct? You can’t control it at all if it’s not joined to your Zigbee network.

What do you mean they do not turn off completely? Do they stay on at a very low level? Or do they not change at all? Or does one color stay on?

Few other questions:
-Do you have a link to the controller you you are using? I did a search and can’t find Rextech anywhere.
-What type of LED strips are you using?
-How do you have them wired?

So, your controller only has + and -. How many wires are on your LED strip? How many channels is the LED strip? Does it have only one color LED?

That sounds like either cheap LED or a voltage/current leakage problem. Check to make sure that neutral and ground have no voltage difference.Depending on the switch type you may need to add either a bleed resistor or a blocking diode to the circuit.

i have a complete set of ledstrips, power suply, the rextech controller ( cant find a link for it, but seems a home made brand of ledstripkoning.nl) white ledstrips 16x0,50 cm to tape on the stairs.

the powersuply goes into the controller. from the controller i have a 2 pin cable with power connector, this connector goes to the motion sensors, from the motion sensors i control the bunch of cables where i connect the ledstrips. the ledstrips are also 2 wired as it is only warm white.

what i ment with without controller is that i put the power connector straight on the motion sensors instead of the controller. this way i dont have any bleed on the leds.

your second question. im pretty sure the zigbee controller was not linked to HA anymore as i had to relink it again. but it was still possible to run the ledstrips and control it with the motion sensors.

what i mean it wont turn off compleetly, that it is bleeding. only a small light you see, but the light wont turn off totaly. as it is only warm white, its nothing to do with colors.

your last question. the led strips are only 2 wired, the suplied controller has only V- and V+ 2 times.

the gledopto has 6 wires. i have tried it today again, have played with cables and all, but i cant get the bleed away with the suplied controller. so thats also why i wanted to try using the gledopto controller, but now im only stuck where to put the 2 cables. yea, i to the V+, but the other 1? is it enough to put that in C as i asume that is the wire for warm white. but im not sure if thats all?

controller deliverd with the whole set

power suply provided with the controller and set

connector from controller to the delivered motion sensors. there is also my question. if i wanna put this connector to the Gledopto controller, where to put the cables.

i have it working on a gledopto controller. and with that controller there is no bleed. so seems problem fixed with changing controller. thanks for help.
